MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

                                               Message from Martha Ward Plowden, Ph.D. 

        I am very pleased to serve as co-president of the Atlanta Retired Educators Association 

(AREA) with Ms. Helen Carithers for the years 2021 - 2023. As we prepare to serve for these years our Motto is: Enjoying, Growing and Inspiring (EGI) and our humanitarian Project is the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia. 

     It has been over a year and a half since we last met in-peson due to the pandemic (COVID19), howerver with thegreat leadeship from our past president, Mrs. Alice Doanes, we were able to meet vitual. This practice will be continued until the virus is over.  The meeting months will remain the same: September, October, November, January, March and May. 

     One of the goals of AREA for this year is to Spotligh our members. This will be accomplished by using the member's retirement year. Members who would like to spotlighted will email their profile and picture of themeself to me following the presented formula.
